Pews and floors will be marked with proper distancing with a marking material such as tape.
One or more ushers with gloves with a mask will help guide and encourage appropriate seating areas for attendees.
Ushers will also control timing of restroom use to decrease crowding in a restroom
Ushers will control timing of exit once worship service is over, starting with the rear attendees (furthest from main stage) then towards the front or main stage area.
Disinfection to happen between services and after services which will include the main worship area and restrooms:
There will be a 1-hour time gap between worship services to provide adequate time for proper disinfection. (Indicate how many worship services will happen on Sabbath and the times.)
Disinfection is crucial between worship services and the last worship service of the day.
If there was disinfection during a previous worship service, there is no need to disinfect immediately before the first worship service begins.
Disinfection of equipment and common contact areas:
Typical equipment used in the church: Microphones, microphone stands, music stand, instruments, items on pulpits, podiums, cable lines, all used video and camera equipment, mixer, volume knobs, and etc.
Common contact areas: Wooden part of pews (top of backrests, armrests, hymnal holder), Door handles of any form, light switches, blind adjusters for windows, sinks in restrooms, and etc.
Staff will use alcohol-based solution, isopropyl alcohol 60% or higher (CDC-recommendation), and/or bleach-based sanitation for cleaning of surfaces and objects.
Staff will use gloves and masks when using disinfecting solutions.
Once equipment or surface area has disinfectant applied, air-drying will be used when equipment or surface has been disinfected.
Air-drying for at least 1 minute before using the equipment or surface area.
Wiping the surface or object dry after disinfection will NOT be used.
Appropriate procedure for disinfecting equipment (such as microphones, video and camera equipment):
Use Alcohol-based solutions such as 70%-80% alcohol wipes
CVS has Rubbing Alcohol 70% Wipes, very good for cleaning electronics
Bleach is NOT to be used on equipment as it may damage/corrode the equipment or metals.
Make sure wiping material is damp and not soaking (full of solution) and not dripping wet where visible droplets are falling to the floor.
Wring out the extra disinfecting solution into the disinfection container.
The wiping material should not be too dry or else it will not disinfect the equipment
Wipe the equipment thoroughly (mainly outside of equipment).
Such as knobs, between and around knobs, main equipment itself.
Do not wipe inside electrical outlets or inside of any connection ports (usually look like holes), plugs, metal jacks at the end of any cord/plug (the metal piece that inserts into a connection ports/hole).
Such as an electrical plug that goes into an electrical outlet.
After wiping the equipment.
Let air-dry for more than 1 minute before next use.
For all other non-electrical/non-metal equipment or non-metal surfaces:
Using one of the following bleach-based solution (CDC Recommendations: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cleaning-disinfection.html)
Diluted Bleach solution: 5 Tablespoons bleach per gallon of room temperature water or 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of room temperature water
Never use hot water as bleach will degrade and be less effective.
Bleach solutions will be effective disinfection up to 24 hours.
Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.
Let air-dry (never wipe dry) for at least 1 minute with proper ventilation.
Training of staff/volunteers:
Initial training will be given prior to opening of worship service
In-person worship service will open to the public on Saturday, June 6, 2020 starting (input time here Pastor).
Those who have had the initial training will give training to those who are new and willing to help.
Quality of training is very important and takes priority rather than speed at this time.
This is to make sure a surface area such as equipment or common touch areas are properly disinfected.
Type of people needed:
Add if more roles here
